My first weekend getaway!
I'm very excited because last night Ann and I made our reservations to go to Paris next weekend. We booked our train tickets on the Eurostar train to leave very early Friday morning September 5th, and then we are staying overnight Friday night, and then will return to London Saturday afternoon. It only takes 2 and a half hours to get to Paris from London by train, which is fantastic! We plan on doing touristy type things all day long on Friday, and then packing up and such Saturday morning so we can come back to London to have Sunday to rest/get ready for classes again on Monday morning.

Hey Simone - so fun to read about your adventures! I also wanted to let you know that the first couple of days after you left, Mr. Peabody did in fact find your new comforter and quickly made it his new resting place! Well, I took the old comforter and covered the new one so he could still be close to you! He's relocated back to the other bed! I think he misses you, as do I! I finally emailed my life-long friend, Karen (graduate of Cal now living in London) with a copy to you, and she already replied, to you, too. Let me know if you find time to hook up with her. She lives in Wimbledon! Eagerly anticipating your next blog, so as to live vicariously through your adventures! Love you, my dear! ~Pam
Hi Pam!!
That cat really does love me doesn't he? It's really amusing...haha. Anyways, yes, I got your email, and also Karen's email reply. I'd love to meet up with her and chat and learn things about this city from a real London-er! I actually just emailed her back this afternoon, and I have her cell number now as well, so hopefully we'll be able to figure out meeting up sometime soon. Thanks for setting us up for that. :) I'm glad you are reading my blog, that's what it's for! I miss you guys very much, even though I'm having tons of fun here, it's very weird not being close to my friends and family all the time. Hope all is well at home, and I'll ttyl!!! :)
Much Love,
Simone
Thanks again for the posts on your blog. Grandma Doris figured out the shortcut to your blog that I had her put on her desktop, so now I think she will get to read your blog more. I told her how to leave comments to you, um, we'll see how she does. Good to see that Grandma Nancy and Aunt Tia have figured it out as well. Where is sister Annica? Annica?? Hello!?!! Not much new here, tomorrow will be the completion of my first week of no driving to work, commuting by bike and BART. Today I even went to the blood lab to get a blood test done for my physical which is in a few weeks, rode there, then rode to work, on my fixie. Nice. Glad to see you might hook up with Pam's friend, that's cool. Keep the posts coming, its fun to hear of your adventures, even short posts are great. Love you. Dad
Hey missy - we miss you, too! But as you said, YOU'RE IN LONDON!!! We can deal with the "missing" in light of the fact that YOU'RE IN LONDON!!! I'm seeking out some information on an article Karen provided me regarding dementia (for Mom), and there is training of a special "approach" for care givers called Specal - Specialized Early Care for Alzheimer's. Right now the only place that provides the training is their center in Burford, Oxfordshire. So I might have to take a little hiatus from work and come to the UK for training! Wouldn't that be nice! Take care and talk to you soon!
Love you,
Pam
